[edit] The AK-74
The AK-74 Assault Rifle shares the same basic mechanism as the famous AK-47 but is chambered for a smaller, higher velocity round, the 5.45x39mm cartridge.
The AK-74 has offically replaced the AK-47 in the Russian Armed Forces as well as most other countries that officially used the AK-47.

In Chapter 5-1 of Resident Evil 5, the AK-74 can be found in a case in the small room before heading up the stairs after the first enemy encounter.
It has a starting firepower of 90, reload speed of 2.83, and a capacity of 30. Fully upgraded, it has a firepower of 250, reload speed of 2.55, and a capacity of 50. It has the highest power of all the MG-class weapons. However, heavy recoil can make it difficult to place accurate shots with repeated fire at medium/long range.
