Adjule

Adjule are feral dogs and also hyenas or African hunting dogs infected with Type 2 Plagas. They are seen in one trailer where Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar are in a kennel surrounded by them. The Adjule can split their heads open, revealing a long ranged parasite and huge, 'dagger' teeth inside their necks. These creatures are reminicsient of the Colmillos in Resident Evil 4. They should be considered very dangerous because they move swiftly and attack in packs of two or more. If you have any Incendiary Grenades when encountering these dogs, they are highly effective. The blast of a Shotgun is very useful because of its large blast which helps hit more than one Adjule, and makes it easier to hit ones that try to encircle you. When in their split head form, Adjules are extremely vulnerable to headshots. They are named after a real-life canid cryptid reported in the Sahara Desert.
In chapter 2-1, there are also two larger Adjules that resemble Hyenas. The only differance from a regular Adjule is they are larger, have a differant apperance and do more damage. Also, if using un-upgraded weapons they are alot tougher than a normal adjule if you do not aim for their plagas when they split.

It head spliting action of the Adjule may have been inspired by the 80s remake of "The Thing" from the scene when the dog reveals it's actually the alien by spliting it's head open with waving tentacles just like the Adjule.
