FI-03 Neptune

From Resident Evil Wiki

Fi-03 Neptune
based:Shark
purpose:Aquatic B.O.W.
status:destroyed

Neptune is a B.O.W. that was created by implanting the t-Virus into a great white shark. It was given the development code of FI-03 and was created specifically to test the effects of the virus on a sea creature. The creature was accompanied by two smaller offspring underneath the Umbrella Residence. During the viral outbreak in the facility, Neptune and its spawn were inadvertently released from their water tanks by a scientist, who had suddenly gone mad and destroyed the tanks, badly flooding the entire Aqua Ring.

Two Neptunes swam in the river bordering the Raccoon University; precisely where they came from is unknown. Although these two were almost certainly killed when Raccoon City was destroyed it is unknown if any more were in the river that managed to get outside the quarantine zone. The fact that the sharks were swimming in freshwater is apparently a product of their t-Viral infection.

The umbrella researchers were disappointed with the creation of Neptune. The t-Virus did not significantly improve the already impressive strength of Great White Sharks, and it was still helpless out of water. Despite these setbacks, it was still considered a marketable B.O.W.. However, Umbrella apparently continued further research on the animals as three enormous Neptunes appear in Umbrella's Russian base of operations. It is presumed the sharks are 40-60 feet long due to the fact they are 3 times the size of the first Neptune, possibly as big as the ancient Megalodon shark.
