Gabriel "Gabe" Chavez was a TerraSave member and co-worker of Claire Redfield and Moira Burton. He was a qualified vehicle mechanic, and understood by his colleague to be fearless and robust.

Biography

Gabriel, alongside other TerraSave members, was abducted and taken to an island. He with Pedro, Edward and Neil are awake at the forest which they heard noises as they were after by the Afflicted which Edward's bracelet becomes red due to being mutated which results his death by hacking his left hand and being beaten down by the Afflicted. He and Pedro are later separated with Neil during the pursuit. Arriving at Wossek and sensing someone is coming inside while wielding his knife, he was disarmed by Claire and was gunpointed by her while on the ground while Moira is with her. He explains to her that they were awaken at the forest until they were separated with Neil. When Claire is exploring the bar, they were called by the Overseer which she tells them about the wall in whoever is infected with the special virus. Gabriel becomes angry by this as he let Claire to come with him outside the abandoned town. Arriving at the outskirts of the abandoned town they found an abandoned helicopter which it requires a new fuel and battery to repair it and he tells Claire and Moira to get it. After giving the battery and fuel, they heard a siren coming from the bar and Claire notices that the Overseer is luring which she and Moira quickly goes back to the bar to stop the siren while Gabriel is stay behind to fix the helicopter.

After Claire and Moira stop the powerful Afflicted with Natalia by their side, they saw Gabriel piloting the helicopter, stating that he can get off of the island. However, it was a trap set up by the Overseer as the controls are broken into pieces. The Overseer taunts him, accusing him of cheating as he tries to take control of the helicopter. His bracelet changes color to glowing red, and his left wrist begins to mutate while he attempted to halt the mutation by stabbing his wrist several times with his knife. The helicopter then crashed into the abandoned building and he was killed in the explosion, much to the delight of the Overseer and the horror of Claire and Moira.

The wrecked helicopter that Gabriel pilots was found by Barry Burton during his search for his daughter Moira in the abandoned building before being attacked by a mutated Pedro at the crash site and his burned corpse is found at the wrecked car where Claire, Moira and Natalia witnesses his death.
