George Hamilton was a top-notch surgeon employed at Raccoon City Hospital. He didn't exactly take the lead and call the shots, but he did possess a cooperative spirit and the knack of easily acquiring other people's trust.

George was, until recently, married for many years. As the game begins, George is attempting to cope with the breakup of his family and the stress of the long and difficult hours he works at the hospital. What becomes of George's family during the outbreak is unknown, although it is possible his ex-wife had moved to a neighboring town after the divorce.

Although George lives in relative luxury due to his highly demanding occupation, he has a naturally active lifestyle, and feels much more relaxed when camping or hiking. It is believed that he sometimes romanticized his profession, which more than likely led to the divorce of his wife. However, judging from the quote, "You're worse than my ex-wife!", it is implied that George's ex-wife did something to cause the divorce.

His special ability is making new medicines from herbs found in the field using his medical kit, which is in his inventory at the start of each scenario.

Often, George is paired up with Cindy Lennox, the blond waitress in the Outbreak series. This is due to the fact that in one of the possible endings for the first game, George and Cindy are the only "couple" ending to be shown. Strangely enough, the two have very different personalities. Cindy adores cute animals and girly possessions and George finds them annoying and bratty. The only thing they seem to have in common is that they need herbs to put their special abilities to use. In the game he also has a positive relation value with Kevin Ryman. However, he doesn't have a good relationship with Alyssa Ashcroft, due to her stubbornness and pushiness.

During the Outbreak, George wears a white and yellow plaid shirt with a burgundy-colored vest, charcoal-colored dinner jacket, gray suit pants and brown dress shoes.[1]

His extra costumes include a yellow Raccoon Volunteer Corps parka ("Outdoor Expert" George: B) and blue operating room scrubs ("Operation X" George:C).

Personal Item: Medical Set

George carried his personal Medical Set with him at all times, allowing him to make medications for the group from various combinations of herbs.

The types of pills he can make are as follows:

• Blue Herb = Recovery Medicine (heals a small portion of the player's health)
• Red Herb = Hemostat (cures bleeding status)
• Green Herb = Antidote (cures poison status)
• Blue + Red Herb = Recovery Medicine [L] (heals a large portion of the player's health)
• Blue + Green Herb = Anti Virus (freezes the virus gauge for about a minute}
• Blue + Green + Red Herb = Anti Virus [L] (freezes the virus gauge for about three minutes)

In File #2, large versions of the pills were replaced with three stacked versions of the small pills. Red herbs could also be combined with the green herbs to make three antidotes.

Extra Item (Outbreak File #2 Only): Capsule Shooter

By loading capsules made with the Medical Set into the Capsule shooter, George could fire "healing bullets" at his friends, making their effects stronger. By loading an Anti Virus caplet into the chamber, George could often drop all but the strongest creatures with a single shot.

George has a dodge-tackle that when used at the right time, he can evade an enemy and even make a strike back. The dodge-tackle must be charged by holding down the circle (O) button and R1 for about four seconds to knock an enemy backwards temporarily.

[edit] After Raccoon City

After the Raccoon City incident, George can be seen flying in an airplane, typing on his laptop. He says that he will stop by the University Research Lab soon, there are things he has been meaning to look into. He is then seen at an airport, stating "I should be quite busy."

George could possibly be looking into vaccines to prevent another viral outbreak.
