[edit] MAC-10
The Ingram Model 10 (more commonly known as the MAC-10) is a simple, compact sub-machine that can be chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum or the .45 ACP round. The MAC 10 is neither powerful nor accurate, and instead relies on a steady stream of bullets and it's compact size as it's main selling point. Originally manufactured for law enforcement use, the MAC-10 gained little popularity due to its unreliability. A smaller variant, the M11 was met with slightly more positive reception. Both weapons have been copied by various weapon manufacturers, and are considered to be more popular among both civilians and criminals than among law enforcement.
The MAC-10 originally sold as a kit that included the weapon, two different-sized magazines, and a large suppressor. This was often a point of critique, as the suppressor did little to dampen the sound of the weapon, but instead was more practical as a handguard to help the shooter control the weapon's excessive recoil.
[edit] Ingame
Two pairs of these small submachine guns can be picked up in Resident Evil - CODE: Veronica where they are chambered for the .380 ACP round. The first can be found by Claire Redfield on the turntable within the Training Facility and are promptly given to Steve Burnside, while a second pair can be located by Chris Redfield with the aid of a lighter in the underground caverns below the facility. Due to the ability to aim at two enemies at once, these weapons can be extremely useful when fighting fast moving pack monsters such as Hunters or Cerberus.
The MAC-10 was also available in the PC release of Resident Evil as an unlockable weapon for Jill Valentine.
While the real MAC-10 is only available in 9mm Luger or .45 ACP, the ingame version uses the same .380 ACP rounds as the M11.
