Kenneth J. Sullivan was S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team's point man and in charge of scouting, reconnaissance, and chemist. He was described as a "very talented field scouting officer". He was also an accomplished chemist, handling chemical protection duties. According to the English language manual of the first game, Kenneth found it odd that he was chosen by Albert Wesker to be part of the an elite force as he didn't see how his chemical experience would be necessary in Raccoon City.
After the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team's arrival at the mansion, Kenneth was attacked by a Zombie in the Dining Room. He escaped to the corridor where his gunshots failed to strike it down. The creature killed him, ripping through his neck. When Alpha team arrived in the room, he struggled to breathe with the blood entering his lungs. He died shortly after.

- In the 1996 version of Resident Evil, Kenneth's head is is ripped apart from his body and is laying at least 1 foot from his body, and in the REmake, Kenneth's throat is torn into, not pulled of, but when you look at his body (not check) his head is ripped off.
- Kenneth is one of the playable characters in the multiplayer mode in the Nintendo DS remake of the original game, Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. Choosing him makes him exclaim"I'm ready for this!"
