Kirk Mathison was an operative of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, serving as one of their helicopter pilots. Kirk supported Chris Redfield as his contact upon the B.S.A.A.'s arrival in Kijuju, destroying the gates that blocked his exit from the public assembly. Kirk's helicopter was later attacked by Kipepeo, the flying form of Type 2 Plagas, which damaged his helicopter, forcing it to crash. Once Chris and Sheva arrive at the crash site, the helicopter was completely engulfed in flames and Kirk was found dead, burnt and impaled on a pole.
