A variation of the Alpha model. Similar to the Alpha model in terms of appearances, some of its distinguishing characteristics includes smaller claws and spikes on its back.

Numerous Hunter R appeared in the Raccoon City Underground Research Facility, in which civilians searched the structure for a way of escaping the city. For most of their search, they were safely frozen. However, in order for the survivors to escape the lab, they had to defrost the whole lab, thus reviving the monsters. The Hunters were then exterminated by the survivors.^[1]
