Maria was one of the Spanish villagers who worshipped as a member of Los Illuminados, led by Osmund Saddler. When the Las Plagas parasite was rediscovered, Maria became a host to the creatures.
She wore a filthy blue dress with a bloody, stained apron. She was first seen through Leon S. Kennedy's binoculars when he took a look at the main part of the village where she was filling a bucket with dirty water and spilling it into a tray of cow manure. She usually carried a knife or a scythe/sickle. Maria was later killed, along with the other villagers, by Leon during the Los Illuminados incident.
