I was testing out a bot subroutine. The program was designed to search through image files and notify the uploader (or uploaders) that the image file doesn't have copyright information listed on it. Evidently, it was designed only for use on Wikipedia, as it has no code for editing message boards.
Yes, it's a standard feature of the "Pywikipediabot" software. I haven't experimented with all of the standard features yet, though I have frequently used one that looks for articles that are not linked by any other page and tag them with {{Orphan}} Turns out there's a ton of orphaned articles out there. Really glad it sorts them by month; too bad it doesn't remove the tag when linked.
Orphaned articles that are organized in a monthly list will definitely help editers with finding them and pairing them up with other articles; good to know.
I suspect a fair percentage of them are Revelations pages, right?
That bit should clear up once the port is launched.
Some of them might be, but really a lot of them are stuff that can be fixed by introducing templates for them. The "ORC scenes" template doesn't list all of the Operation Raccoon City cutscene pages, which adds them into the tag reports. Others are "Inserted Evil"-related or are about action figures. The categories are pretty broad.
Chat itself is a program that lets people talk to one another. It's sort of a cross between a comment box and an IRC message service. Just click on "Start a Chat" and you'll be sent to the service.
Sorry for being curious , but last question, the only thing that I could contribute to a blog is to edit it with my own knowledge about the specific topic?
With the blogging rules, you talk about Resident Evil or the wiki - we can give space for wikis/games that are related to Resident Evil, though, but make sure it's nothing "spammy". I've seen it be used for Essay writing - someone writing up their study of a subject in the series.
On an un-tabbed article (eg. Vincent Goldman) you edit the [Edit] button at the top and switch to "Source" mode. This way you can see the template coding, which is placed before any sections (hence every other [edit] button is irrelevent.
Hello again, as you may or may not know recently Wikia has released a new version of our Game Guides application on both the Apple Store and the Google Play store. We are hoping to target our audiences even further and try to bring this app more to their attention. For this reason, we have created a template promoting our application that we would like to place on your site with your permission of course. The template can be seen here (it shows what it would look like on both a light themed and dark themed wiki). The template would live in the upper-right column of this wiki, right below the advertisement. Please get back to me if it's ok to go ahead and enable this on here.
Hey, I wanted to know, since there isn't many users that like the Alice movies, I was wondering can I like kinda mange that section of the wiki? I know I haven't been on this wiki long enough for any special titles, but I can learn the page layouts and update some of the pages. And we could discus some ideas, throw the around a bit, like what we discussed in chat…
Well, please reply when you can!
Well, the Anderson stuff still come under MoS' blanket jurisdiction, so all pages of a certain form (walkthrough; character; creature, etc.) are treated equal. If you see something that only appears in the Anderson continuity (nicknamed "movieverse"), add {{articletype|anderson}} at the top.
Im not sure if you know this already but I recently learned that the Lepotitsa is Voiced by Mary E McGlynn. i telling this because for some reason i can't edit pages and i learned this from Wikipedia and INDb so i dont know how reliable it is
i make my account just a few days ago and was getting confused in editing ... so my walls editing and a regular page like a game look completely different on my computer so i was wondering how to edit a main page because the way it is right now i couldnt even do a spelling edit
When you edit an article with 'TabView' activated (where entire subpages are displayed on a bar), clicking the large 'Edit' icon at the very top of the icon will only have you edit the main 'Hub page', which only contains the TabView coding and templates.
When you edit other articles, you have "Source" and "Visual" editing modes. The "Visual" mode, which is the default, gives you a 'WYSIWYG' (What You See Is What You Get) view of the article (though with templates appearing as 'puzzle piece' icons until you hover your mouse over them) with images being generated. The accompanying "Source" mode instead displays everything as it is on Wikipedia, allowing you to remove any random coding the "Visual" editors may have inadvertantly added (eg. copy-pasting from another wbesite might throw random font-change coding onto the article).
Also, I think there's an option available to add in a spell-checker to people using Visual editor. Would you like me to activate it for you if I can find it?
hi sorry to trouble you but i uploaded some images of the suspended/regis licker to add to her gallery but when i try to edit the page won't load! I was wondering if someone else could use the pictures?
Haven't edited here recently because of the new layout. But also because of templates. Where do I find the templates and how do I post them in an article?
Yeah. The Wikia skin can be a handful. You can always change back to "Souce" editor in the top-right corner of edit pages if you want. I had to revert an edit you made, just now - "Orphan" templates notify the reader that the article hasn't been linked by any other. In this case it still hadn't been linked. I suppose you only read the first half of "Please introduce links to this page from related articles."
Also, there was an article I just created last night called "Final Boss" that has been deleted by Forebot. I'm not entirely sure why it was deleted. I confess it wasn't finished yet when I logged off but I'm trying to complete it now but I don't want the finished version to be swept away also.
I can see the redundancy of it certainly. I intended it to be in a more simple list format. I have never entirely agreed with how the category pages and templates have been organized so I wanted it to be more...visible to people browsing the wiki. There are a lot of "semi-orphans" out there; linked but never explored.
Speaking of which, I can't really create a template or category pages for something like a list of final bosses since that would be pretty spoiler heavy. Even spoiler tags would a little lackluster for that.
If you're wondering where I got the idea, I was looking over at Final Fantasy Wiki's page for "List of final bosses". Probably apples and oranges at this point, right?
That sounds kinda unnecessary considering the category "Bosses". You can spoiler-proof a page by adding "Spoiler" as a category. That'll blacken the page (once it's loaded) and you'll be asked if you want to proceed.
