Ndipaya
From Resident Evil Wiki
A tribe belonging to the Kijuju region. Until the late 1960s, their capital of their Kingdom was deep underground. However, with the installation of a research facility within the grounds, the people were driven off their land. The Umbrella Corporation saw great potential in the treasured flower of the tribe, the "Stairway to the Sun." From it sprung the Progenitor Virus, which would lead to further advancements made by Umbrella.
Most of their above-ground territory was taken off their hands with the building of an oil field.
In the nineties, the director of the Oil field - Ricardo Irving - helped them to get their trust. He had a gondola installed to increase their technological knowledge and many other things, eventually becoming a friend of the people by the late nineties.
The Ndipaya were sent to the oil field for treatment due to a disease spreading - in actuality, there was no disease and the "treatment" was Type 3 Plagas.
The following morning, the younger children of the tribe had died from the Plagas. The chief went to the Oil field to ask questions, only to return to his people and warn them that the "disease" had killed them. The fear of dying brought the Ndipaya back to the Oil for further "treatment" - whether they wanted to or not.
In the few days that followed, the Ndipaya behavior became very disturbing. The men began dressing in full war paint like the ones worn by their ancestors. The women no longer grieved their dead babies, before dying from the Plagas themselves.
Some of the men even mutated, increasing their size by nearly three feet.
The civilization came to an end when the remaining Ndipaya were killed by BSAA members.
