Peyton Wells was a S.T.A.R.S. member in Resident Evil: Apocalypse. When his close friend Jill Valentine made claims of monsters in the forest, he was one of the only ones to support her theory. During the outbreak in Raccoon City he and Jill Valentine met up during the infection and held off the infestation at Raven's Gate Bridge along with STARS, RPD, and UBCS members. He is bitten by a zombie during these events. After Umbrella closed off the city, they, along with reporter Terri Morales, hide in a church along with a survivor named Angus Mackenzie. They are besieged by lickers and zombies until they are saved by Alice. Peyton disliked Alice immediately because she insisted on killing him before he became a zombie. Soon, Dr. Charles Ashford recruited the four of them to save his daughter, Angela Ashford. Almost immediately afterward, however, he is killed by the Nemesis (mutated Matt Addison), which saddens Jill. This does not stop him from reanimating as a zombie though, and he ambushes Terri and Jill but they manage to defeat him.
