[edit] Background

Rain is one of only two female members of One's commando team that went to The Hive to deactivate the homicidal Red Queen. Rain was extremely volatile and confrontational. She used to be a member of the Los Angeles Police Department and had to prove her worth to the entire department there, because they held prejudices against her, thinking that a woman would not be as good a policeman. She was given an offer by Major Timothy Cain to join U.B.C.S., and she accepted because her gender kept her from being accepted in any SWAT teams. She was the group's most skilled marksman, and had at least one close friend in J.D. Salinas. She did not like Chad Kaplan, the only member of the group who had never seen action, and grew to blame him for the deaths caused by the Red Queen when he thought she had no more defensive abilities- Namely Olga Danilova, One, Vance Drew, and Alfonso Warner. She, Matt Addison, and J.D. encountered the first zombie, who they thought was only a crazy woman. The infected woman attacked Rain, and Rain was bitten savagely on the hand, thus becoming infected with the t-virus. She and J.D. soon shot the woman several times but scored no headshots, so the ghoul was still left standing. Rain, J.D., and Matt Addison were attacked by a horde of zombies while waiting for their teammates. She sustained more bites over the course of the survivors' escape from the Hive, speeding up the rate of infection.

A tough young woman from the get go, Rain was still determined to prove her worth as a valuable asset to the team of survivors. She taunted the zombies often and killed many of them, but was bit again when hesitating upon seeing an infected J.D. After he bit her, she put him out of his misery. When they were almost to the train, the Red Queen came back on and said that she would let everyone go if Alice killed Rain, which would keep the infection from escaping the Hive. The antidote to the t-virus was nearby, but since there was a 50-50 chance of it working, the Red Queen refused to let Alice administer it. They would have been locked in the room, but Kaplan (who had been thought dead) found a way in and destroyed the Red Queen, setting them free. Rain and the others got to the train. Their troubles were not over and they still had to fight the licker. Alice administered the t-virus antidote to her and hoped it would work. Unfortunately, it does not work. Rain transformed into a zombie aboard the escape train, and Matt was forced to shoot her in the head.
