[edit] Striker
In the real world, this weapon is commonly known as the Striker-12, Protecta Bulldog, and Armsel Striker. Its original country of origin and manufacture is South Africa, although some were made in the USA for a brief period of time.
It is a unique weapon in that, unlike most shotguns that either use a pump-action, semi-auto, bolt, or break action,(the earlier two likely coupled with a tube feed system, the bolt with a box magazine, and the break action simply loading directly into the breech) the Striker is equipped with what amounts to an over-sized revolver's cylinder bored with 12 chambers, and actuated by a combo of spring loaded mechanisms, and coupled with a double action trigger system resembling most modern revolvers.
[edit] Resident Evil 4
The Striker is widely considered to be the best Shotgun in Resident Evil 4, with high Firepower, quick reload time, and much quicker Firing Speed. Although it does not perform as well as the Riot Gun in terms of long-distance, it still packs more power than the other shotguns. The Striker has the highest Ammo Capacity, and its Exclusive Upgrade allows it to hold 100 shells. This allows the player to save a lot of space in their attaché case, since shotgun shells can only stack 15 at a time. The Striker is the third and final shotgun available to the player. It is purchased for the price of 43,000 pesetas. Compared to the other two shotguns, the Striker's damage decreases more dramatically over distance, but its shot radius is wider. The Striker takes up 10 spaces (5x2) of Leon's inventory, making it the most compact of all the shotguns.
To start, it has a firepower of 6.0, can fire every 0.73 seconds, takes 3.00 seconds to reload, and has a capacity of 12 shells.
Fully upgraded, it has a firepower of 12.0, can fire every 0.73 seconds, takes 1.50 seconds to reload, and has a capacity of 28 shells. The Striker costs 392,000 pesetas to fully upgrade. It is widely considered the best overall shotgun due to its capacity, power, and firing rate.
[edit] Glitch in Resident Evil 4
Commonly known as the Ditman Glitch, this highly exploitable bug allows Leon to run, reload, and perform actions (such as vaulting or kicking down ladders) at 1.5x the normal speed of movement. To execute this glitch, the player must raise the Striker, but before the laser sight turns on, enter the inventory screen and switch weapons. If completed correctly, the player should begin to run very fast. The glitch does not work if the player switches back to the Striker, exits an area (by way of the green-text exit doors) or enters a cutscene.
[edit] Umbrella Chronicles
The Striker is the last shotgun available in Umbrella Chronicles as the "Shotgun SA". It has the highest capacity and widest spread, but it comes at the price of being the weakest of the three available shotguns. Oddly, its Power rating in the Customize menu is C+, while the ordinary Shotgun has a rating of C, yet it is described as being weaker.
[edit] Resident Evil 5
The Striker makes a reappearance in Resident Evil 5 under the name "Jail Breaker". It is found at the bottom of the great stairwell inside the ship in Chapter 6-1.
It has a starting firepower of 180, reload speed of 2.52, a capacity of 5, and an attack range of 0. Fully upgraded, it has a firepower of 380, reload speed of 1.82 seconds, capacity of 15, and an attack range of 3.
