Talk:Licker

From Resident Evil Wiki

[edit] House of the Dead reference

The trivia section states that "Lickers are also inspired in House of the Dead series." This is vague, ambiguous, and not even grammatically correct. Is this person saying that Lickers were inspired by an enemy in The House of the Dead, or the reverse? Is this even true? I've played all the games in the HotD series, and I don't remember anything even remotely resembling Lickers. Clarification is needed, as is what enemy is "inspired." I've played several games of the HotD series, and I think that they meant the Licker was inspired by one of the enemies, cuz I remember seeing one enemy that looked like a licker.

I got it! I played HotD4 and I remember something that looked like a licker, Lickers inspired that enemy inside HotD4.

[edit] RE5

This might not be accepted by most immediatly, but on an article I linked to via Planet Resident Evil, Lickers were passively referenced as an enemy. Here's the part I'm talking about: "The Sound Of Violence: The ambient sound-work in RE5 is excellent. If you're rocking the game on a 5.1 system (or in 5.1 headphones), the positional effects are subtle and effective. You can hear the voices of enemies coming at you from far in the distance, and the slimy, slithery sounds of Lickers lurking somewhere overhead. Naturally, a shotgun sounds like a big ol' nasty shotgun, and makes squishy, splashy sounds when you unload it into a nearby enemy."
