After the Raccoon city zoo tram stops at a train station the survivors go back to the streets. Once they reach the streets they flee from the large amount of zombies wondering the streets into the Subway station. The survivors must get the train up and running by turning on the power and collecting the 2 Emblems. After the train is ready to go the survivors are attacked by a giant flee (or queen flee) and must kill it before the train takes off. The survivors ride the train as far as possible until reaching the arklay mountains where the Flashback scenario takes place.

If the Player does not make it to the train in time it will abandon them. The survivors will be forced to escape through the ventalation tunnel. Once they reach the top a special ending is played when the Player is walking down an empty street (the same street showed in the Desperate Times ending) which most likely leads to the Police station.
