The story's title is "Dark Ages" (黑暗年代). It is restricted to over-18s only.

Plot[]

BIO HAZARD 2 VOL

Microsoft's missiles are intercepted by a third party, allowing Reform to continue his attack, unmolested.

"Reform has over one hundred missiles on hand to threaten the world. The B.H.S.T., who were immediately dispatched, is going to take the launch systems computer and prevent Reform's plans! Of course, Reform is not stupid and has already removed the computer system, sending the B.H.S.T. into a trap!"
— Prologue[excerpt 1]

Continuing with last issue, Charlie; Ya Lan; Baakdo and Chris stand in a scrapyard warehouse, being challenged by a giant G-mutant while Reform watches through a computer screen. He presses a missile launch button, and it fires from a truck in an afforested area. The B.H.S.T.'s ship tracks its trajectory and fires its own defense missiles to take it out. Microsoft rushes into the command room and takes his seat as this happens. As the two missiles approach Reform's, they are intercepted by another two defense missiles sent by a third party to prevent Reform's plan being foiled. Too late to fire another wave, the lonely missile flies over a heavily urbanized area, revealed to be none other than Hong Kong.

BIO HAZARD 2 VOL

The G-zombies begin their attack on the B.H.S.T. unit

Out into the Chinese coast, a submarine has surfaced, displaying the Umbrella logo. It is being captained by the American CENTCOM commander, previously revealed to be an Umbrella spy, with the Chemical commander joining him. With their missile defense work finished, they submerge.

The missile explodes in the sky over Hong Kong. No buildings are damaged by the blast. Reform confirms the B.H.S.T.'s fears over the computer screen - he has spread the G-Virus over the Chinese city, using the missile as his delivery system. The four B.H.S.T. operatives are quickly surrounded by G-mutants, though they do their best with what little space they have. Moving back into an ever tighter space, the four men are only saved from death by ceiling damage - Dehne and Claire use the B.H.S.T. infiltration helicopter to smash open an escape route. Baakdo continues to fire while his comrades get up the helicopter, intent on slowing them down. Eventually, he two grabs hold, and all four are pulled out of the warehouse, though have no time to climb the ladder.

BIO HAZARD 2 VOL

Reform attacks the B.H.S.T.

As the helicopter flies out of the city, Reform watches from a tower ledge. Releasing his tentacles upon them, he rips into the helicopter engine, sending it crashing to the ground. The ladder hits a lamppost, sending all four men falling to the ground. Chris lands on his back, though the other three fare better. Claire opens the helicopter door to attend to them, confirming to Chris that she and Dehne are alright. His happiness is cut short when Reform's tentacles begin to strange Ya Lan's body, with blood gushing out as they suck from him. Lifting him up, Reform uses his body to strike fear into the others.

"Reform is to kill; he vowed to exterminate the B.H.S.T. as a warning to the world!"
— Epilogue[excerpt 2]

Further notes[]

The concept of a missile releasing a virus over a Chinese city is comparable to Tatchi's destruction in Resident Evil 6.
