Benny Matsuyama (ベニー松山 matsuyama benī) is a fiction writer hired by various game companies to write short stories to serve as background or summaries for a game.
Resident Evil works
Matsuyama's earliest work for the franchise was BIOHAZARD CODE: Veronica ORIGINAL STORY, a 2001 novelization of Resident Evil CODE:Veronica X that was part of the BIOHAZARD CODE: Veronica Kanzenban Kaitai Shinsho guidebook.
In 2002 Matsuyama wrote a novelization of the Resident Evil remake, simply titled "biohazard". This came with biographies for Chris and Jill as part of the biohazard Kaitai Shinsho guidebook. Also in this year was biohazard 0 Prologue, a prequel to Resident Evil 0 released for the biohazard 0 KAITAISHINSHO guide. In 2005, Matsuyama wrote the Resident Evil 4 novelization, biohazard 4, for the biohazard 4 kaitaishinsho guide. Matsuyama's last work for the franchise was a novelization of Resident Evil 5, titled BIOHAZARD 5, which appeared in the BIOHAZARD 5 kaitaishinsho guidebook.
