Well, this is surprising.
After the unintentional horror that was Resident Evil 6, which brought disgrace not only to the name Wesker but shame to the moniker of Capcom's masthead franchise, I wasn't sure what was coming next. My hope was that we would see a return to form, a game meant to chill the veins of every gamer and send shivers down the spine of even the most indomitably stoic viewer. What I almost expected was a Resident Evil 7 that cashed in again on the name and produced yet another thin conpsiracy, yet another brace of nightmare fuel ripped straight from the playbook of Lovecraft and the school of Slenderman, a comedy in the guise of something intended to be terrifying. Perhaps more rambling about how "THE GLOBAL POLITICAL ORDE…

Found an interesting easter egg, confirmed by third playthrough. The first Resident Evil movie was produced over a five year period between 1997 and 2002, and was one of the more chaotic developments in the franchise's history next to BIOHAZARD 1.5 and the many Resident Evil 4s, going through various directors; producers and writers with or without anything actually being done. Of course, most of you readers would only be familiar with the Paul W.S. Anderson Resident Evil, which was the most hated movie on the Internet from 2000 until its release, where people stopped caring an agreed it was passable (kinda like that other movie...).
But this article isn't about Anderson's script - oh, no. This is about the other scripts that his beat out.
Our first script is credited from Alan B. McElroy, who was the first wri…

All in all I loved playing the Re4 main game, but there are some parts of the game I hated playing through. I just wanted to know if any other Re4 players had a least favorite part to play through.
I'm sure there are other parts of the game some players don't like playing through that I didn't list, but I felt like the list of possibilities was long enough.Read more >
So I want to get Resident Evil 7 no matter what. But what should I get it on? I have a new Xbox One and I have had my PS4 for almost a year and a half. My Xbox one has fewer games, but PlayStation VR is on the other system. In addition, I have the demo, which means I am more accustomed to the controls on PlayStation. I also want to get it on disc because I trust discs more than downloads. However, the Deluxe edition is only available via download. I have thought about buying it on disc for Ps4 and Digital Deluxe on Xbone.
What do you recommend? And while we are at it, what would you do?Read more >
Hey, Forerunner here. Today I'd like to talk about the often held belief that Resident Evil CODE:Veronica was the 'real' third game, which I feel should be addressed after an incident on Reddit the other day led to a few of our users getting flamed.
The basic story is that Capcom was under a contractural obligation to Sony to have three numbered titles on the PlayStation. With the console's reign on the market about to end with the PlayStation 2's approach, Capcom decided that "Resident Evil 3", a game in development for the Dreamcast, would be renamed "Resident Evil CODE:Veronica" and a smaller game in development for the PlayStation be renamed with the '3'.
The belief is the result of a few of misunderstandings about the series:
- There was no …

So I've recently scoured the internet; steam community, this wiki, game theorists, any source I could find, and still I have no information on one part of Resident Evil 4. Right after the fight with U-3 you encounter a flying creature next to the ladder leading to the next area. It can only be hit once before becoming invincible and flying off. It isn't referenced in any file, it is the only enemy of its kind, and it never reappears after that one scene. Does anyone have some theories on what it is?Read more >

As some of the much, much older Resident Evil fans will know, Usenet was the central point of talk of the franchise in the 1990s leading up to about 2002. Fansites weren't so common back then outside of Angelfire (Unless you count Biohazard Extreme), so to most Internet-using fans all they needed was alt.games.resident-evil. That message board was archived by Google for their Google Groups project, and it looks pretty complete. Below are the things I found while browsing through.
The original Wesker's Report was written to coincide with the release Resident Evil CODE:Veronica and was a summary of the series at the time. The writer had taken a number of Capcom developers to bars to get them to reveal in-depth knowledge of the series lore, and hu…

First of all, it should not be numbered 7. I don't like that number, it just seems random, and it bring flashbacks of Final Fantasy VII.
Maybe it should just be called Resident Evil (like the original, or the like the third installment, with a title)
Resident Evil: Synergy.
Resident Evil: Space-out.
Something like that, but I suppose 7 could work, maybe I just need to get used to it.
Great story rely heavily on character history and development process, and ofcourse who they are.
I don't mind who's in it. new or old characters, I enjoyed Jake in 6 more than Moira or even Helena.

Firstly know that i am esstatic to hear about this and i cant wait til this game is released however we are in a time where games have become more modern and how we play games have evolved and we have seen this in the RE franchise where in 1996 til about 2004 we had old school style resident evil games with creepy enviroments and music fixed camera angles and tank controls to move your character however from RE 4 onwards the game changed to the over the shoulder perspective and seemed to stray from horror and lean more on action and QT…Read more >
Great news! Capcom announced today that the Resident Evil Zero HD remaster will be releasing on January 19th for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360m and PC. Though the company previously announced that the Resident Evil Origins Collection -- which includes both this remake and the Resident Evil HD Remaster -- was slated for a January 22nd release, it's nice to know that we'll be able to download a standalone copy a few days prior.
If you pre-order the game, you'll receive two alternate costumes for the game's two leads: a Wolf Force costume for Billy and a cheerleader outfit for Rebecca (not available for the Xbox 360 version). Check out a video for that below.

Nineteen years ago this month, Capcom made the "Pure Vanilla Build", which is the basis of most fan mods of BIOHAZARD 1.5.
According to interviews, Producer Shinji Mikami instructed Director Hideki Kamiya to present him ROMs of BIOHAZARD 2 at the end of the first week of each month so he could review progress. In November of 1996, Mikami played this build and found it to be appalling.Read more >
Even though her constant cries for help did get annoying, I kind of want Ashley Graham to return in another game. There is an idea i've had in my head for a while about what Ashley would be like if she returned for another game would be this: After going through all the craziness she and Leon went through when Ashley was kidnapped she was inspired to really change herself from being a timid young woman who couldn't defend herself to a hard core secret agent just like Leon. After returning home and finishing college Ashley would do a lot of pretty tough training so that she could defend people the way Leon defended her. After becoming a high ranked special agent Ashley and Leon end up being assigned to a big mission together. Ashley will be…Read more >
I thought I'd create this as a heads up, currently we have about "5" upcoming Resident Evil/Biohazard related projects at least coming out starting this year up until 2017, we have three games, one stage play and one certain movie that is going to feature Rebecca Chambers for the first time after Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 and it's also her first time appearing in a CG Movie and after such a long time (15 years would have past since the release of Zero and the upcoming CGI Film). For Capcom’s 20th anniversary of the Resident Evil/biohazard franchise, the new title Umbrella Corps (Biohazard Umbrella Corps in Japan) was announced. I was not surprised to see the majority of comments across Resident Evil USA’s facebook page and youtube were outright negative. Many of the comments can be summed up as;
- “Too much action, don’t like it.”
- “But why?”
- “This won’t make any time and money”
- “Nobody plays these”
- "This isn’t what fans want"
While much of the criticism is simply dissatisfaction they are unlike the old games, there also seems a lack of understanding the Japanese market and knowledge of Capcom’s sales history. With the release of the remasters, people keep complaining that it appears Capcom isn’t listening to fans because they haven’t done a RE2 remake. However, many of these complaints are not valid because many people are not familiar as with Capcom’s history, what sales actually show, and how game development works as they think they are. We have yet to see a RE2 remake because the first remake had good reasons to be made, sales trends does not show support for one, and remasters and remakes are not the same, therefore not related to Capcom’s recent releases and plans.
There were reasons for the first game to be remade. Some of the content planned did not make it into the game. Most notable, the Trevor family story line. The book BIO HAZARD The…Read more >
Until the 28th (two days from now at the time of posting) you can get a number of Capcom games at reduced price on the 3DS and Wii U E shops. While that doesn't sound like it's relevant, it includes RE titles. the 3DS has Revelations at 55% off and The Mercenaries 3D at 60% off. The Wii U version of Revelations is also on sale. Right now I'd buy The Mercenaries 3D since it probably isn't worth the $20 US price tag it has. It's a fun game, but the lack of content makes buying it full price redundant. It's $7.99 US right now. It's a digital download of course so you'll need space on your 3DS's SD card or a new SD card to store it on. It uses 4713 blocks of memory. So after the raid mode patch apparently Single player got broken. Special weapons you recieve as rewards can potentially duplicate themselves several times. Hello, Resident Evil fans. This will be a special event, call it a prelude of things to come. The next upcoming Resident Evil would need a sure-fire way of playing. The plot would need to be one that nobody has even dared to dream of, especially not even me. The new Cast would need to be reeled in like fresh Neptunes from out of the water and into the frying pan.
However, in order to win over the hearts of classic and new Resident Evil fans, Capcom would need to return to its roots. The director would need to bring back the classic pre-rendered camera angles that were famous. before Resident Evil 4 was even released. Even the 'tank' controls that made Resident Evils 1 up to Outbreak File #2 spectacular would need to be in it. The typewriter…Read more >
