Capcom is the main company who distributes, publishes, and designs Biohazard franchise and several other franchises such as the Street Fighter series, and Devil May Cry series. They are also the creators of the Dino Crisis series.
History
GameCube deal
Some time at the start of the 21st century, it was decided in a discussion between Studio 3 and 4 heads that all numbered Resident Evil titles in development at the time would be GameCube-exclusives.[1] This applied to Resident Evil Zero, the remake of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 4, but did not apply to Resident Evil Outbreak and Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code: Veronica. Amusingly, Mikami was quoted by Famitsu as saying that were Resident Evil 4 to be ported onto the PlayStation 2 he would "cut his own head off".
Shortly after Resident Evil 4 was released on the GameCube, Capcom broke their deal by announcing plans to port the game onto the PlayStation 2.
Later Productions
Capcom released a CGI Movie during 2008, Resident Evil: Degeneration which is set after Resident Evil 4, and Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009, followed by a Gold Edition in 2010.
Capcom, later established the "Revelations" series starting with Resident Evil Revelations in 2011, which is a prequel to Resident Evil 5. It was ported to consoles and PC in 2012, another CGI Movie, Resident Evil: Damnation was released.
Revelations series was extended and in 2015 Resident Evil: Revelations 2 was released, it served as a prequel to the 6th numbered entry in the series, Resident Evil 6, which was released in 2013. It starred Claire Redfield, who didn't appear since the 2008 CGI Film (2005 in the story timeline), the game is set on 2011 and stars Barry Burton's Daughter, Moira alongside Claire.
In 2014, Capcom broke the exclusivity suspicion surrounding the Resident Evil Remake and announced it to multiple platforms, it was released on Xbox 360 / One, PS3 / 4 and PC in 2015, with Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster following the next year.
Resident Evil 2 remake was announced, while Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps, a spinoff multiplayer shooter was also announced and set for release the same year.
KITCHEN was developed by CAPCOM for project Morpheus and showcased at E3 2015.
A third CGI Movie was also announced, starring Chris Redfield, Leon and Rebecca Chambers, whom didn't appear in the story since the release of Resident Evil Zero in 2002. The film will be a cooperative production by CAPCOM and Marza Animation Planet.
In 2016, CAPCOM celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the first Resident Evil by having multiple game releases such as the HD Remaster of Zero, Origins Collection, Umbrella Corps, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil Vendetta (CGI Movie) ports of Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 for the Next-gen consoles, stage plays, merchandise and more. Resident Evil 5 was also ported to Nvidia Shield TV. Resident Evil: Bio Terror an on rails shooter announced as an upcoming VR arcade game to be shown exclusively at Dubai's Hub Zero gaming complex. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was announced at E3 2016 and a teaser demo was released.
