"Those poor soldiers. They were good men just doing their jobs, and that scum murdered them and escaped!"
— Edward upon finding Billy Coen's prison transfer papers.

Edward Dewey was a member of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service Bravo, serving as rear security alongside Rebecca Chambers. While he was officially Bravo team's primary pilot, RPD officer Kevin Dooley was tasked with this role during the events of the games while Edward served as co-pilot[2], presumably so that Edward could assist in search-and-rescue operations should the need arise.

Despite being a pilot, Edward was also regarded as an excellent marksmen.[3] He tended to look after the team's younger members, such as Rebecca, and was also the team's auxiliary mechanic in conjunction with designated Vehicle Specialist, Forest Speyer.

Biography

"You... You must be careful, Rebecca. The... The forest is full of zombies and monsters..."
— Edward warns Rebecaa before his death.
Edward Zombie

Edward, turned into a zombie.

While searching for escaped fugitive Billy Coen, Edward was separated from the rest of Bravo team and was attacked en masse by a Cerberus pack while he searched Raccoon Forest. Armed with his favorite rifle, his choice of weapon made it virtually impossible to fend off the charging pack.[4][notes 1] Edward escaped, although barely and fatally injured, to a nearby train - the "Ecliptic Express"- where he warned Rebecca that there were "zombies and monsters" in the forest, before succumbing to his injuries. He later reanimated and attacked Rebecca before finally being put to rest.
