Elroy was an Umbrella employee who died during the 2003 Caucasus incident.[1]

Biography[]

In the years following the Raccoon City Destruction Incident, the consolidation of control under the command of Col. Sergei Vladimir saw Elroy be transferred to the Russia Branch, and found himself and others now working at the top-secret Caucasus Laboratory located beneath a chemical plant. Even before this transfer he had become aware of Umbrella's bioweapons project, but out of fear would not speak out against it and accepted the transfer offer.[1]

By January 2003 Elroy had made contact with a rival company to Umbrella. Overseen by Dr. Albert Wesker, a plan was drawn whereby Elroy was to cause a viral outbreak within the laboratory and flee the country. To ensure his compliance, half of his pay was delivered in front with the other to be paid upon receiving proof of the outbreak. He was, however, deceived by this, and was provided with a placebo dyed to appear identical to the company regulated colours for t-Virus vaccines. After going through the planning stages, injected himself with the placebo in a lab restroom. Following this, he walked into a biohazardous materials storage room and cracked open a capsule; as expected, the Red Queen security system recognised the outbreak risk immediately and placed the facility under lockdown. Although successful in escaping the facility before the bulkheads closed, his exposure to the capsule's contents quickly led to him displaying symptoms of Cannibal Disease. As he threw off his labcoat to blend in with the workmen on the surface, Elroy fell numb, began vomiting and finally became blind and lose consciousness.[1]

As per facility safety requirements, he was escorted to the infirmary for emergency testing, and within hours began infecting his fellow employees.[1]
