Leon using the binoculars in Salazar Castle.
Leon S. Kennedy uses a pair of zoomable binoculars in a few cutscenes during the Spanish Outbreak in 2004. The binoculars are kept on Leon's utility belt.
Gameplay[]
Leon uses these three times in Resident Evil 4; in an optional cutscene inside the Village center, in another optional cutscene before fighting Del Lago and finally in a cutscene with Salazar and Ashley in Chapter 4-1. The player may unequip the binoculars by simply switching weapons and aiming.
Further notes[]
- Despite the gloom, Leon was able to locate Salazar by torch-light, indicating that the binoculars can see through darkness.
- In the Preview Disc/Trial Edition of Resident Evil 4, the binoculars are an item the player can equip at any time with no restriction, similar to the knife in the final version of the game.
