The M202A1 FLASH is a four shot rocket launcher developed for the US Military during the Vietnam War to replace flamethrowers. It fires 66mm M74 incendiary-loaded rockets.

In Resident Evil[]

Available only for the final battle against the Tyrant (T-002 Model) and loaded with four rockets, the Rocket Launcher is thrown to the player by Brad Vickers and used to destroy the monster in a single shot. However, it is possible for the Tyrant to actually deflect a rocket fired at it. A version of the Rocket Launcher with unlimited ammo can be unlocked with a cleared file after finishing the game in less than three hours with an A grade. The Rocket Launcher can be difficult to use as it cannot be aimed at high or low angles and takes some time to steady before firing, therefore it is highly recommended that the character be positioned far from the enemy as possible, especially against agile opponents such as the Hunter that can close in on the player.

In Resident Evil 1.5[]

Re 1

Initially, the Rocket Launcher was to appear in Resident Evil 2, as shown in the beta version of this game, however it was replaced with the FIM-92 Stinger in the final product.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis[]

The M66 Rocket Launcher can be found within the Dead Factory and is referred to as the M66 ingame. An infinite version can be purchased from the "The Mercenaries - Operation: Mad Jackal" minigame. Again, this weapon cannot be aimed up or down, and takes a second to steady before firing. This weapon is used by Mikhail Victor in the Operation: Mad Jackal minigame but with a capacity of eight rockets.

How to Obtain In Resident Evil 3: Nemesis[]

A few items are necessary to obtain the M66. The player will need the Facility Key Key as well as the keycard obtained after the fight with Nemesis in the BOW disposal room (the keycard is red, and is needed to exit the room before the timer expires). While the player is in the lower levels of the Dead Factory, completing the puzzle involving the Water Sample, they can insert the plastic card on the Facility Key into a machine nearby. Doing so will 'activate' the plastic card attached to the Facility Key, giving it a bar-code coating. After the player obtains the red Keycard after the Nemesis battle, they should proceed to the Resting Room (save room) and then enter the adjacent room with the steam valve puzzle. There is a nearby elevator that can only be activated by the red keycard. Taking the elevator will lead to a hallway. At the end of this hallway is a locker that can only be opened with the Facility Key key with the barcode. The M66 is inside this locker.

The Umbrella Chronicles[]

The weapon appears with the name M.R.L. (Multiple Rocket Launcher) in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. It is the second most powerful rocket launcher and the 3rd most powerful weapon in the game.
