The Gold Ring (ゴールドリング Gōrudoringu) is a key item in Resident Evil 0. It is a small, but detailed gold ring with some kind of beast head in the design.
Purpose
It is used in conjunction with the Silver Ring to open the Briefcase. The "Combine" prompt must be used to insert it into the Briefcase.
Location
The Gold Ring can be found in the Ecliptic Express's Cargo compartment, in the rear carriage.[1]
Development
Footage from the Trial Edition of the game found on the Resident Evil Zero (Non-Interactive Demo) reveals that the Gold Ring was originally found in a wall-mounted key cabinet in the cargo compartment. The Briefcase, known then as the "Conductor's Bag", was found in the same room.
