Further notes

Minor appearances

  • In the parody minigame The Tofu Survivor, he is seen at the end eating the main character Tofu.[1]
  • There is an unlockable epilogue file in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis for HUNK.
  • There's a small photo of HUNK in some of the computers that the player will need to access in Resident Evil CODE: Veronica. This is the same photo from HUNK's inventory in Resident Evil 2.
  • He was mentioned in Wesker's Report, when Albert Wesker mentions HUNK beating his (Wesker's) team to the retrieval of the G-virus.
  • HUNK and the other U.S.S. troops appear in the intro movie of Resident Evil Outbreak.
  • HUNK is mentioned in three of the reports released in the viral promotion campaign for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. The first is a report by him, expressing interest in VECTOR's abilities and personally requesting him to be added to the squad. The second is a psychological report about HUNK's mental state. The doctor notes that HUNK only seems to have a soldier side and that any human side seems to have vanished. The last is a report by Alfred Ashford, saying he will order HUNK to transport the package containing the Tyrant. In the aforementioned reports, the doctor also notes that HUNK seems to respond to the name "Bella" though he (the doctor) could not determine the relationship.

Further notes

  • HUNK's nickname is "Grim Reaper" (死神 shinigami?), but has been mistranslated several times throughout the series into "God of Death", "Death"; "Mr. Death" and even "Dr. Death", leading to the nonsensical phrase "The death cannot die".
  • The name of HUNK's scenario in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, "The 4th Survivor" and The Fourth Survivor respectively, may be another reference to his status as a "Grim Reaper". In Japanese culture, the number four is considered unlucky, due to it's similarity with the word "death" (both are pronounced as shi).
  • In Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and Resident Evil: Outbreak, HUNK's BDUs are dark gray. In Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, and Resident Evil: Revelations, they're black.
  • In the data of the Outbreak games, there is a higher poly cutscene model for HUNK that includes a removable helmet. Presumably he was planned to take his helmet off in a cutscene during whatever dropped scenario he was in.
  • If HUNK partnered with Rachel in Raid Mode, Rachel's will quote "Pleased to work with you, Dr. Death" suggests that she knows him before or knows of him, due to the nickname he has giving, then he quote back to Rachel " You wouldn't be if you knew how I got that name".
