After Dorothy Lester's death, the t-Virus variant "T-JCCC 203" managed to infect a plant. When her husband Al Lester found it, it had grown through the entire Hospital, and consumed Dorothy's corpse.
Still grieving his wife, he believed that his wife had been "reincarnated". Al, who was also infected with the T-JCCC 203, began killing hikers, feeding their corpses to the plant he believed to be Dorothy.
