The room contains an intercom, whiteboard on the right side and set of projector plus a screen on a table up front. In the 2002 Remake, the Visual Data Room is added with various shelves which store audio-visual materials and videos. A small room also was added which require four passwords to enter.
There's a panel located on the right side of the room where the button inside can be used to move the pillar away to reveal the Key for the Power Area. If the Slide Filter was taken from the Researcher's private room, it can be placed onto the projector. The slides reveal Albert Wesker's involvement with Umbrella. The remaining of the slides show Umbrella's B.O.W.s: the Cerberus, the Hunter α, and the Tyrant T-002 model.
In REmake, the player can find various items; a First Aid Spray that is placed on the table, the map by checking the shelf and the Key for the Power Area on the small room which requires four passcodes (8, 4, 6, and 2) to enter. Unlike in the original 1996 Resident Evil, the player can view the slide immediately by checking the projector, although the player will still need the Slide Filter to access the adjoining footage editing room, as the red toned filter is the only way to discern the access code.
