Marvin Branagh was a member of the Raccoon City Police Department at the time of the viral outbreak.

Biography[]

Marvin was a veteran police officer at the Raccoon City Police Department, working under the chief of police, Brian Irons.[4]

Raccoon City Outbreak[]

Following the events of the Umbrella incident in the Arklay Mountains, a leak from an Umbrella facility within Raccoon City led to another t-Virus (Clay virus ε-strain) outbreak.[5] When the police department fell to the zombie horde, Marvin teamed up with surviving cop Leon S. Kennedy and an Umbrella researcher Ada Wong. They escaped into the sewers and soon found their way into an Umbrella factory. As Ada led them into a secret laboratory under the factory, Marvin was slashed by the infected Dr. William Birkin and was taken to a security room to rest. Ada and Leon rushed and explored around the laboratory in effort to create a vaccine to prevent Marvin from mutating into a zombie, which later saved his life.

Further notes[]

When the game was retooled as the retail version of Resident Evil 2, he was instead a minor character who was already infected and turned into a zombie located within the police department (in an art-like museum in the final version instead of a modern fashion in the prototype) at the beginning of the game and Sherry Birkin being treated with a vaccine in the underground after being implanted with a G-embryo by her mutated father, William.
