PACHISLOT BIOHAZARD 6 (パチスロ バイオハザード6 Pachisuro baiohazādo 6?), also known simply as BIOHAZARD 6, is a slot machine game initially developed by Capcom's Enterrise subsidiary for arcades. An adaptation of 2012's Resident Evil 6, it was later ported onto Apple's iOS 6.0 devices by CommSeed Corporation. The iOS version was first released on 17 September 2015, with the version 1.0.1. update being released on 13 January 2016. As of 2022, service on Android has been terminated.

Characters[]

Gameplay[]

The game has three major game modes: "Biohazard Infection Evolution", "Crossover" and "Javo Mode", the latter of which is based on "Uroboros Mode" from PACHISLOT BIOHAZARD 5. Scenarios in the game are based on scenes in Resident Evil 6, though the sequences are condensed and revised for the gameplay rather than being direct copies.[1]

Development[]

Work on PACHISLOT BIOHAZARD 6 was built around taking feedback from the previous game in the series, PACHISLOT BIOHAZARD 5. For the cabinet design, Enterrise developed what it called the "Neo Pandemic Cabinet", which was designed to make the player experience more immersive. The cabinet's lighting heavily used blue lights like in Resident Evil 6. The "Movision" feature that was popular with the previous game was brought back.[1]

As had happened with the previous game, Enterrise and the Capcom Sound Team sought after foreign artists living in Japan for new compositions for the game. Stephen McNair and Aimée Blackschleger produced three songs in total for the soundtrack.[2]

Marketing[]

PACHISLOT BIOHAZARD 6 was formally announced on Tuesday 26 May 2015 at a Capcom press conference at Tokyo's Shinagawa Prince Hotel. The event was chaired by Hiroyuki Kobayashi and Yoichi Egawa, CEO of Enterrise, and also featured gravure idols Yuka Kuramochi and Saki Yoshida.[1] The event was heavily themed on Resident Evil 6 and included set design mimicking the game. The press conference and airing of the trailer took place on a stage designed to resemble Tall Oaks Church.[3] Other sets included chrysalids, a prison cell and a surgery room that appear under the church in the game[4][5], as well as the obelisk at the centre of the Quad Tower in Lanshiang.[6] Demos were offered at the event as well.[7]
