The Parlor (応接間 Ōsetsuma?)[1] is an area of the Spencer Mansion, located on the first floor of the east wing. It is otherwise known as the "living room" (居間 Ima?)[2]

Description

It is a carpeted room consisting of a fireplace, a tapestry, along with a few pictures hung up on the wall. A stylish chandelier illuminates the room, though unlit lamps are mounted on either side of the fireplace and the mounted shotgun. There is a long coffee table placed on the middle of the room, along with a large sofa.

In the 2002 remake, more pictures were added to the walls, as well as lamps flanking the mounted shotgun to mirror those next to the fireplace; all four are now lit. The mantel also holds twin candelabras, a clock and two statues, one of them of a horse. The picture above now depicts a gathering of people instead of the abstract pattern of the original, and above that is mounted the head of a stuffed deer. A small cabinet sits to the left of the fireplace, and features an assortment of framed photos, dishes and trinkets. The green plant that was featured in the original Resident Evil near the entrance was replaced with a coat-hanger.

Guide

In either the original or remake version of Resident Evil, player can switch the Remington M870 with the broken shotgun without triggering the trap.
