Part 3: Power and Loyalty is an issue of the Resident Evil: The Marhawa Desire manga series, known as BIOHAZARD marhawa desire in Japan. There, it is referred to as "Episode 3" (第3話 Dai 3-wa ). At a restaurant in Singapore, Chris, Piers and Merah are still trying to contact Doug. Merah found out that Professor Doug hasn't returned to the university even though his vacation is over. Chris finds this odd as Doug never violates the principle as a teacher. Merah also found out that Ricky was gone at the same time as Doug. Piers assumed that they will not acquire anymore information even if they go to Bennett University. While in Marhawa, just after the trio noticed smoke coming from a building, they immediately rush to the location. Bindi orders one of the student to call the fire department but Gracia insists that she does not need to and orders everyone to calm down. She assured everyone that no important buildings have been affected by the fire and explains that the burnt room was an old room for school clubs from before and that she intends to demolish them.
Ricky thought of this as a cover up to prevent from anyone knowing that her students has become a zombie. He immediately rushes to the room that was burned down and accuses Gracia for destroying the evidence, namely the students that has turned into zombies. Doug recalls the conversation he had with Gracia and it is revealed that she claims her academy is supposed to be free from B.O.W.s. Ricky saw the pendant used to wear and begins to think about her. Ricky notices Bindi following them into the building, trying to see what has happened. Ricky prevents her from seeing Alisa's remains. Bindi then faints due to the stench of the burnt corpses. Ricky assumed that she will do anything to try and prevent from news that has happened in her academy to go public.
The entry for Marhawa's Report in this issue is a Chinese newspaper discussing mutanogenic viruses. It mentions the Stairway of the Sun (Chinese: 太陽的階梯; Pinyin: tàiyáng de jiētī) and its origins in Africa, along with it being the source of the Progenitor Virus. The existence of the underground Ndipaya Kingdom has become public knowledge.
Norovirus; SARS and Polio are all said to be among the RNA viruses used in bio-weapons research.
