Plot[]
It has been ten years since the ancient and secretive forces of Shinra and Ouma fought in Shibuya over a transdimensional gateway called a "Quake". Ouma's goal was to use it to merge all dimensions together into one, while Shinra fought to prevent it due to the destructive implications across their dimension, the "Material World". It now now the year 20XX, and Shinra agents Reiji Arisu and Xiaomu are dispatched from Shinra's HQ in Roppongi to the nearby Shinuya ward, which has been left deserted since the previous incident. Shinra has allied with USSTRATCOM, who has dispatched agent Bruce McGivern to Japan to assist.
Elsewhere in Shibuya, Shadowloo agents Cammy; Juli and Juni are ordered to eliminate Shinra agents and obtain samples. Chun-Li, an Interpol agent who has been following Cammy for some time, demands she tell her what happened to Vega. Sensing she is getting in the way, Juni suggests killing her; Cammy disagrees, seeing Chun-Li as insignificant. The two leave Chun-Li behind, who is concerned Shadowloo is involved with the tremors.
Reiji and Xiaomu feel another tremor, confused by how it feels different. A group of Gnosis appear, transported from the far future, followed by a very confused Shion, KOS-MOS and MOMO (all Xenosaga), who believe they are in an Encephalon. Reiji and Xiaomu initially believe they are strange-looking civilians who snuck into the area, and warn them away from the Gnosis, which they are unable to kill. KOS-MOS activates the Hilbert Effect to take them out. Believing they are involved with the tremors, Reiji has them stay in the present. Juli; Juni and Cammy arrive and discuss apprehending and eliminating the two Shinra agents; KOS-MOS hears them from a distance and notifies the pair. Chun-Li finds the Shinra agents, and warns them about Shadowloo's presence in the area. A fight breaks out between Chun-Li and the Shadowloo trio, and KOS-MOS and Shinra against the left-over Gnosis. With the Shadowloo operatives injured, they retreat with their sampling work unfinished, Chun-Li fast on their tail.
KOS-MOS runs a scan of the area, determining there are no Gnosis in a 1 km radius. With everything much quieter, the Shinra agents have a chance to talk to the time travellers, determining that KOS-MOS is some kind of android. They go off to find somewhere better to socialise, though Shion is left wondering what is so unique about Xiaomu, who doesn't seem to be an ordinary human.
