In the Japanese version, the man writing to Morpheus repeatedly refers to the latter as "Kikei", implying that he was a senior figure within Umbrella. This was omitted in the localization. The Japanese version also is a bit more specific in what the agreement terms were, namely that it would be forbidden even in the future to disclose any actions he did while in the company. Similarly, the Japanese version also specified that his final salary among others was to be issued for retirement purposes as part of the "treatment in case of dismissal" portion of the contract. In the localization, this was shortened to simply refer to the non-disclosure agreement still being in effect and that his final paycheck was on his way per the dismissal procedure form.
