Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection (Biohazard Chronicles Selection in Japan) is a game pack and port for the on-rail shooters 2007's Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and 2009's Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, and was released June 2012 on PlayStation Network exclusive to the PlayStation 3. Like BIOHAZARD Revival Selection, the game was released via digital only in Europe and North America and via Blu-Ray disc in Japan, similar with the same 2011 Chronicles compilation game for the Wii.
The game is compatible with both the PlayStation 3 traditional Dualshock wireless controller and the Move controller.
The game was released with positive reviews.
The game includes both of the Chronicles games, compiled in full HD graphics and Dolby surround support.
The game is unchanged in terms of levels, models and story. However, most sounds and textures have been changed or removed and some subtitles have been fixed. For example, in Darkside Chronicles, Leon behind the gun shop says: "Something must be rotting," but the subtitles in the Wii version read: "Something's rotting." This has been fixed in the PlayStation 3 version.
Playable characters include Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Carlos Olivera, Billy Coen, Rebecca Chambers, Ada Wong, HUNK, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Steve Burnside, Jack Krauser and Albert Wesker.
- An Xbox 360 version of the game was not released due to the difficulty in adapting the game to Microsoft's Kinect.
- The game was released as a bundle for $30 on the PSN in June 2012. On July 17, 2012 they were released separate for $15 each on PSN.
