The situation in the Kijuju Autonomous Zone is indeed terrible.

キジュジュ自治区だが､ 確かにひどい状況だ｡

内戦が長く続いたため経済的にも疲弊しているし､ 人心も荒廃している｡
最近､ 政権が変わり戦火はやんだが､ それでもまだ混乱は続いている｡

キジュジュ自治区自体は､ 近隣に鉱山があるために比較的経済状態も良く安定していたが､ 昨年末辺りから状況が変わり始めた｡

教えてもらったブログにあった動物の惨殺体などもその一つだが､ 特に顕著なのは外国人排斥の動きだ｡
今の政権が極端な国粋主義を推し進めているから､ それに触発されたとも考えられるが､ それにしても情勢の変比が急すぎる｡
自治区内の住民の間でもその流れに乗る住民とそれ以外の住民の2派に分かれており､ 両者間のトラブルは絶えない｡

その中で､ 少なからず殺人事件も発生している｡
事実､ 俺が情報源の一人としていた肉屋の主人も､ 先月殺されてしまった｡

この動きは､ 俺は政治的なものではなく､ 宗教的なものも絡んでいるんじゃないかと考えている｡

だが､ あんたの言うとおり"プラーガ"の蔓延､ つまりはバイオテロの可能性がないわけじゃない｡
政情不安定なこの国は､ テロリストたちの格好の根城となっている｡
キジュジュ自治区も例外ではない｡
今のところバイオテロに関与していそうな連中はこの辺りでは見かけないが､ 可能性はゼロではない｡
むしろ､ 可能性が高いからこそ俺がここにいるわけだ｡
