Satoshi Nakai is a freelance artist known for his role in the late 1990s and early 2000s as Flagship's principal artist. He worked on character creature sketching for both Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil CODE:Veronica.[2][3]

Personal life

He graduated from Hokkaido molding design professional school (北海道造形デザイン専門学校) in Sapporo-shi, Hokkaido, Japan.[1]

Contributions to Resident Evil

In regards to Resident Evil Zero, the majority of Nakai's contribution to character and creature design is found in the Nintendo 64 version of the game. When the game was retooled for the GameCube, he was busy on another game and Yoshihiro Ohno; Shinsuke Komaki, and Shinkiro were brought in to continue the work.

Among Nakai's rejected contributions is an idea for Zero's cast to be civilian-based. When this idea was rejected, his original character "Annie" was re-purposed as Rebecca Chambers. He is also known to have envisioned a female version of the Proto Tyrant (T-001 Model) boss.[4]
