Snake

Snakes as they appear in Resident Evil 6.

Snakes are creatures that appear in Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, and Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Snakes are found when the player destroys boxes, vases, etc. that contain them. The snakes will lunge at the player afterwards, but can be easily avoided so long as the player quickly realizes they have freed a snake.

A snake will lunge at the player after being discovered, but will do only a very small amount of damage and will be harmless after the initial attack. After this they can be killed and will drop one of the varieties of eggs when killed.

In Resident Evil 4, the snakes are encountered in The Village and Salazar Castle and are light grey in color. When killed, they seem to dissolve in a similar manner to Plaga-infected enemies.

In Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, snakes appear in a few chapters. They usually drop from the ceiling and stay on the ground for a little while before lunging to the player in order to damage them.

Snakes are also found in Resident Evil 5, and are mostly found the same way, although at least one snake is roaming "free" near the TRICELL camp near the Oil Field. If a snake is coiled up (as is always the case when "freed" from a container) it will make one lunge attempt at the player. Rarely, the snakes will drop a Rotten Egg. These snakes appear light brown in color.

A snake also appears in Resident Evil 6, and is found in Leon Chapter 3. If the player opens the coffin on the right in the first hallway, the snake will jump out and attack the player in the same way as before. Killing the snake gives no items.

There are a few snakes that can also be found in the Extra Episode: The Struggle of Resident Evil: Revelations 2, such as in the house with the Escapee's Note file or near Evgeny Rebic's "special weapon".
