You don't suppose that Bob was to become a Bandersnatch? The building behind the Guillotine was used as a surgery. The prisoner made NO mention of him being guillotined and hadn't wrote that as a conclusion to the other deaths either. But they were in body bags...could the surgeon have infected them with t-virus and attempted surgery?
If they wanted to kill them...why not use the guillotine? It works.
