The Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) was an anti-B.O.W. paramilitary force under the control of the Umbrella Corporation.
This organization's only known call-to-arms was the viral outbreak in Raccoon City. After the T-Virus escaped from The Hive and into the streets, this organization was flown in on helicopters to take part in various missions while their security counterpart organization guarded the checkpoints out of the city.
Upon landing at their designated sites, the soldiers took to the streets and began mass-executing the infected. Two squads, Kilo and Romeo, were redirected to Sector 1 to fight off the increasing infected presence, while Squads 3 and 7 were on the retreat, having failed to hold off the infected in their areas. Alpha Team, led by Carlos Olivera, joined forces with a Raccoon Police and S.T.A.R.S. roadblock, but they were forced back when ammunition was depleted and the blockade subsequently overrun. Soon after they found that their base (perhaps the Raven's Gate forces) had severed all links to their troops, rendering radios useless in calling for evacuations. The two known surviving members of the organization, Carlos and Nicholai Ginovaef later linked up with Alice, Jill Valentine, Lloyd Jefferson Wayne and Angela Ashford to escape after making a deal with Doctor Charles Ashford. However, Nikolai was killed soon after meeting up with Jill and Angela, leaving Carlos as the only survivor to escape.
Uniform and arsenal
The U.B.C.S. wear dark urban-colored fatigue pants, black combat boots, a black tactical shirt and a black tactical vest with the U.B.C.S. unit's logo displayed on the back and the operative's surname printed across the top. Their firearms are also varied, from Beretta 92F/FS to Desert Eagle pistols.
They also use a small variety of assault rifles, primarily the IMI Tavor TAR-21, its compact variant, the CTAR-21, as well as a handful of IMI Micro Galil rifles. Their rifles are also outfitted with a variety of laser-sighted modules and tactical illumination devices.
Known U.B.C.S. members
The force sent into the city consisted of at least five squads (though "Romeo" could suggest as many as eighteen) of soldiers at least three men strong in each. Squads 3 and 7 may be "Charlie" and "Golf", provided the full NATO alphabet was used without gaps for team designations. The only three named members of the U.B.C.S. were part of Alpha Team.
The UBCS was armed with a great variety of weapons. Their primary weapons were the IMI Tavor CTAR-21 and IMI Micro Galil assault rifles. They carried a variety of sidearms, including the Desert Eagle and Beretta 92FS. They did not seem to carry any explosive weapons besides M67 fragmentation grenades.
