Today Capcom announced a crossover project between the PC versions of Resident Evil 6 and Valve's Left 4 Dead 2. Characters from Left 4 Dead will make an appearance in Resident Evil, while enemies from Resident Evil will cross lines to invade Left 4 Dead. Both game houses are extremely excited to offer this unique opportunity to fans of the games. Not only offer it, but provide it completely free to owners of the game(s)!

What does this mean for each game?

Resident Evil 6

Owners of Resident Evil 6 will be able to select one of four of the survivors from L4D2 to bring into their world. Each survivor will come with a special weapon set - Coach, for instance, focuses on heavier weapons like the shotgun, while someone like Ellis prefers tactical firearms.

Regardless of whether players choose to go with a familiar character from Resident Evil or L4D2, two enemies will also attack with impunity from the Dead series: The Witch and Mini Tank (special version of The Tank. Content will automatically be downloaded beginning April 5th, and the survivors will be available during the PC exclusive mode, Mercenaries: No Mercy.

Left 4 Dead 2

L4D2 owners will have to hold off the attacks from some of Resident Evil 6's nastiest monsters: Lepotitsa, Napad, and Ogroman.

Rather than make the decision on how the Resident Evil 6 characters will appear in L4D2, developers are leaving it up to players of either (or both) titles to decide! For a limited time those interested can utilize the authoring tools to design their favorite characters, upload them to the site, and have a chance at having them chosen for inclusion!
