Information being transferred over to the Resident Evil 1.5 wiki.

Here is another blog post that I felt would be inappropriate on the wiki at large. While there is a Resident Evil 1.5 article and other beta materials, creating exclusive room articles is a slippery slope for a number of reasons. Therefore, this blog post should be seen as a collection of would-be articles for the "1.5" prototype build of Resident Evil 2.

I will provide accurate transcriptions and high quality screenshots of the script and will attempt to translate some simple phrases. However, please note that I am not trained or fluent in the Japanese language and that my translations may only reflect enough of these scenes to give an extremely basic understanding of what is happening in them. Therefore, documentation will be provided for others to do a better translation.

This blog post uses information from the leaked 40% pure vanilla build (official, un-modified version) of the 1.5 prototype, the Resident Evil 2 Preview and Resident Evil 2: Trial Edition, and the BioFlames fansite and community. Any room that is not covered here over time may potentially be a fan-made area.

As a special disclaimer, I do not own any build of "1.5" nor do I personally know anyone who owns a copy nor anyone in association with fan projects for the game.

Raccoon City Police Department[]

The Raccoon City Police Department is the starting point of the game. I've seen no evidence to suggest that the City Area was ever accessed, as it is in retail. The design of the police station was vastly different from the final release, which took on a mansion-themed appearance with lavish puzzles and designs, instead opting for a more realistic and functional design.

The police station seems to be the starting point for each build of the game. As such, no "1.5" content exists on any official release of the final build, instead being replaced by the final design of the police department. The only available disc with content of this section is the leaked 40% build.

The First Floor[]

The first floor of the police station functioned similarly in "1.5" as it did in the final release of the game. It mostly houses offices and reception areas.

Lobby[]

The Lobby serves as the entrance to the police station and is where Elza Walker begins her scenario. The front entrance is destroyed and a crashed motorcycle and be seen lying on its side at the front desk. The emergency shutters are activated and a hoard of zombies await on the other side.

When Leon enters the lobby, the zombies break through the shutters and flood the station. Elza does not experience this event in the leaked build.

Further Notes[]
  • It is likely that Elza crashed her own bike through the doors. Her history as a bike racer connects her to the crash.

Office A[]

Office A is the office area behind the lobby's reception desk. It is unknown what this office was used for. This room appears to be a prototype of the East office.

Further Notes[]
  • There's a pushable box in the room data but it can't be seen in-game.

1F West Hallway[]

The 1F West Hallway is a corridor in the police station's west wing. This hallway allows access to the other floors via elevator or stairwell, another office, and an exit.

A unique feature of this room is an access shutter that needs to be lifted in order to access the entire area. A panel on the wall can raise or lower the shutter and if lowered at the right time can split an enemy in half. A seemingly endless flood of zombies are able to access this hallway from a broken shutter at the outside exit.

Office B[]

Office B is the second office area in the police station. This room features one 9mm Parabellum Bullets pickup. There are two doors at the east end of the office. This room appears to be a prototype of the West office.

A scene can be triggered here between John and Roy in Elza's scenario.

Further Notes[]
Bh2 roy
  • The two doors at the east end of the office do not lead to their appropriate locations. They lead to two B1 rooms: the weapon storeroom and shooting range. The map reveals the shape of the two unknown rooms, showing that they are about the same size.
  • Beta screenshots of a scene with Roy have been shown to take place in a small, untextured room in later builds. It is highly likely that the doorway in the southeast corner of the room leads to where Elza finds Roy.
  • Textures found on the 40% disc indicate that there may be two boxes of handgun bullets meant to be in this room instead of one. Later prototypes support this by having two boxes on the same desk.

West Stairwell[]

The West Stairwell is a stairwell in the west wing of the police station. The stairwells are only seen in later builds of "1.5". The 40% build has room data for one of the stairwells but is missing background images and is inaccessible in-game. The stairwells functioned similarly to the Lounge stairs.

Raccoon City Police Department Rear Entrance[]

The Raccoon City Police Department Rear Entrance is an outdoor area on the northern side of the police station, accessed from the east wing. A police truck has collided with one of the precinct's outer walls. This room appears to be a prototype of the Rooftop (RPD).

This room cannot be accessed from the first floor until a crate outside of the doors is moved. Instead, it is initially accessed from a ventilation shaft on the second floor. In Leon's scenario, the truck is on fire and Ada is trapped inside. In Elza's scenario, the fire is already extinguished.

Raccoon City Police Department Front Entrance[]

The Raccoon City Police Department Front Entrance is an outdoor area on the northern side of the police station, accessed from the lobby. There is a small rooftop landing overlooking the street.

After descending from the rooftop heliport, John and Elza make their way across the area down to an pathway leading to the drains. A scene can be triggered here with John in Elza's scenario.

Further Notes[]
  • In various trailers, Leon can be seen making the same leap that Elza and John make. While Leon can do this through the debug menu, there's no way for him to do it in his regular plot line.
