Capcom has revealed several exciting details about Resident Evil Revelations 2. The game was formally announced at Sony's pre-TGS 2014 conference on Sept. 1, 2014, and due for release in Japan sometime in early 2015. The game will be available for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Steam. Capcom has confirmed that the development team responsible for Revelations will be working on the game. There was a playable demo at Capcom's booth at TGS this year.
Despite its nominal status as a sequel to Revelations, the game will not feature Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine as main characters, and will instead feature a new set of characters in a new setting. Instead, Revelations 2 will mark the return of protagonist Claire Redfield and a new character named Moira Burton (who is the daughter of S.T.A.R.S. member Barry Burton).
A new enemy type will make its debut, known as the "Afflicted". While looking like zombies, it's said they are "...something quite different." Players need to choose how react to them when in combat.
